Wireless Keyboards
for Trekker and Maestro
Maestro and Trekker deliver enhanced notetaking capability. Now users
can input data quickly and conveniently anytime, anywhere. The system
uses wireless technology to communicate with three (3) popular portable
folding QWERTY keyboards and a portable Braille Bluetooth keyboard,
doing away with cumbersome wires and adapters.
The system includes drivers that enable full PDA access and control, so
users can alternately use the PDA tactile keyboard or the external
wireless keyboard without having to quit the Maestro or Trekker
applications. The popular Key Describer feature is also available for
each external keyboard, minimizing the learning curve.
Braille
KeyMaestro
Take extensive notes efficiently in Braille with KeyMaestro, the
HumanWare light and highly portable Braille Bluetooth keyboard.
KeyMaestro uses Bluetooth technology, allowing you to communicate with
your PDA without the hassle of cumbersome wires and adapters.
KeyMaestro is a full Perkins-type keyboard with eight Braille keys and a
space bar, a four-way navigation key, four function keys, two edition
keys (control and shift). You can input data in Braille, quickly access
your favorite applications, enter commands with special function keys
and enjoy the convenience of compact portability. You can alternately
use the tactile keyboard or the KeyMaestro without having to quit the
active Maestro (or Trekker) application.
The KeyMaestro keyboard has an improved power management. The keyboard
has a power on/off key, battery autonomy of 100 hours of continuous use
(1,000 hours standby) and a power-saving auto-sleep mode. Visually
impaired users can also know the battery status via audio feedback.
The Bluetooth Manager of the Maestro platform has been finely tuned to
provide our users with a robust and easy-to-connect interface. Once the
keyboard has been enabled, Maestro will automatically communicate each
time you want to use it, as soon as the Maestro and KeyMaestro have been
turned on.
Bluetooth
Keyboard
The HP IPAQ Bluetooth Foldable Keyboard uses
Bluetooth technology to communicate with the PDA. The technology has a
communication range of 30 feet (10 m). This keyboard is the same size as
a notebook computer keyboard, with a standard 65 keys QWERTY layout,
including a number row.
Infrared Keyboards
As long as the PDA and keyboard are within infrared range, users are
free to type as they please, making keyboard-intensive tasks, such as
taking detailed notes, a breeze.
The Belkin Infrared Wireless PDA Keyboard is a
full-featured foldable keyboard that includes a number row and four
function keys.
