VERA - Very Easy Reading Appliance

VERA is the perfect reading machine for Blind or Low Vision senior citizens who need to "keep it simple". 

Only three steps to reading independence:

• Lift the lid

• Insert your material

• Depress the read button

If you want to get a little more adventurous you can push one or two more buttons and store documents, books, magazines, letters, receipts, etc. to recall and listen to over again.

As an option, you can add a computer monitor or interface VERA to your TV set.  This is a great option for seniors who are not blind but have low vision and would like to see their documents enlarged as they are read.

THE VERA KEYPAD

• Large keys with colorful, tactile markings.

• Less-frequently used keys tucked away under a flip-up cover.

READING WITH VERA

• Read a page continuously, or read line by line, or even word by word.
• Easily move backward or forward through the page.
• The document is automatically saved when VERA is turned off.
• Change the text size and colors on the optional VERA display screen or TV to suit your needs.

Here's how it works:

• The Scanner - takes a picture of the page.
• The Reader - converts the picture into spoken language and reads it aloud.
• The Keypad - lets you control VERA.
• The Speaker - lets you hear VERA reading aloud to you.
• The Display Screen or your TV- lets you see the page, magnified and in easy-to-read colors. (Note: the Display screen or TV adapter is an optional addition to the complete VERA system.)
